How are everyone else's project's coming? I'm doing both socks at once on two circular needles and it's coming pretty well for my first time doing a person-sized sock and my first attempt to do two at a time. As of tonight, I've finished two repeats of the lace pattern and am starting my third. You can find the project on my Ravelry account here.

Oh, and yes, that is an octopus stitch marker.

Next up: swatching.

I am lazy and do not swatch. Someday, I am sure I will regret it, but I haven't yet. I'm trying them on as I go and they're a little bigger than I might like, but I'm making the smallest size and the gauge is spot-on, so it's probably just me being used to thin cotton socks.

I didn't used to... and then I started a pair of socks, went to try them on, and realized they were wayyyyy off and had to completely start over. So now I do, at least a little bit to see if they're close to what I want.

This is my first socks project and... I have bought the yarn, did a tiny swatch (I need to use 2.25 needles) and knit the ribbing on the first sock.

This is my first spinning project, and (after a few false starts) I've got some yarn which is roughly fingering weight - I reckon the gauge will average at the one in the pattern. I started with the gloves (so as to get a feel for the yarn), and I'm up to the thumb of one glove. The lace pattern really is very pretty!

When I first started knitting I made a hat for a two-year-old that's too big for my head. I don't know how it came out so wrong or how I didn't notice until I'd finished, but I was so excited to be knitting in the round and knitting my first hat!
